Kesha Postpones Upcoming Tour Dates, Will 'Undergo Surgery'

Say it ain’t so! Kesha has postponed her upcoming tour dates due to “doctors orders.”

The 30-year-old “Tik Tok” songstress took to her Instagram on Tuesday, February 20, to share that she’ll “undergo surgery to repair my torn ACL.”

“I’m heartbroken to be writing this right now,” she began the lengthy announcement. “I am being forced to postpone some of my upcoming international dates due to a recent injury I sustained while performing.”

She continued by sharing that it’s her “biggest joy in life to share my music with my fans all over the world,” but she has to follow the advice of medical personnel and have the procedure.

The Grammy nominated performer — who is also set to join Macklemore on a 30-show tour in North America this summer called “The Adventures of Kesha and Macklemore” — concluded the post with a heartfelt apology to fans.

“Moving these dates is making me sick with sadness, but I tried to will this injury away and unfortunately it didn’t work,” she wrote. “I love you all and I’ll work every single day as hard as i can to recover and get back on stage as soon as possible. I’m so sorry and sending love always ❤”

Kesha has proven to be a powerhouse both on and off the stage through the years. Most recently, she took the stage at the 2018 Grammys on Sunday, January 28, in New York City, to perform a moving rendition of her song “Praying,” which was inspired by her alleged abuse and subsequent legal battle with music producer Dr. Luke.

As previously reported, Kesha and Dr. Luke were involved in a highly-publicized legal battle regarding her accusations of sexual, verbal and mental abuse in a 2014 lawsuit. The music producer has denied all of Kesha’s claims and Sony denied her request to be released from her contract. Kesha dropped the lawsuit in August 2016 to return to releasing new music.
